One late August afternoon, my wife and I went down to the beach hoping to catch one of Florida’s beautiful sunsets. As we sat in the sand, we noticed the gorgeous cloud formations above the distant pier and began to hear some offshore rumbling. Summer storms form quickly over the Gulf so I decided to set up my camera- you know, “just in case”. Having a healthy respect for mother nature, my wife hurriedly snapped a photo of me with her phone as she retreated to the car. Meanwhile, I decided to wait just a few minutes longer- you know, “just in case”. Several miles offshore the volley of lighting began to illuminate the clouds over the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. It was a nature photographer’s dream! Moments after I took the photo below, I received several texts from my wife letting me know that it was time to pack it up and get off the beach. I wonder why she hasn’t wanted to go with me when I bring my camera anymore?
